It was the 50th year anniversary of the march in Selma over the bridge. Thousands of peple reenacted this march everywhere especially in Selma, and on Bloody Sunday. It was when blacks were given the right to vote, and Martin Luther King Jr. led this march in prayer over the Edmond Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. I think it was really neat to do this reenactment to show younger people what they went through back in the day, and show unity and people becoming one. In Frt Wayne, we did a reenactment of Selma too. We walked from the northside bridge to Freimann Square in honor of this 50th anniversary. Its very special to do these kinds of things in your city. It gets people informed and bring people from all walks of life together. |
